Legal information and terms of use for Patrice

1. Nature of the Service

Patrice is an information and wealth-organisation tool. It aggregates and formats the data you enter to give you a clear overview. Patrice does not provide investment advice and does not constitute an advisory service relating to specific financial instruments.

2. What Patrice Does

✓Estimates real estate market value using official public data (DVF, HM Land Registry, OMI, INE, Spanish Ministry of Housing), or indexes the value you declared to the national house price index published by Eurostat, or by the FSO for Switzerland

✓Generates automated analyses via artificial intelligence based on your data

3. What Patrice Does NOT Do

4. How to interpret the analyses

The analyses, diagnostics and orientations produced by Patrice — including those generated by artificial intelligence — are based solely on the data you enter. They are an observation of your wealth at a given point in time and do not take into account your external environment, your full tax, family or legal situation, or any data you have not entered.

5. Investment Risks

All investments carry risks, including the risk of capital loss. Past performance is not indicative of future results. The value of investments may fluctuate both upward and downward.

6. Consulting a professional

Any investment decision is best prepared with a qualified professional able to take your full situation into account. Depending on your needs, you may in particular consult a financial adviser registered with the relevant national register, a wealth management adviser, or any other qualified professional (notary, tax lawyer, chartered accountant).

7. Publisher status

The publisher of Patrice is not a regulated financial intermediary and does not provide an investment advisory service. Patrice is an information and wealth-organisation tool: it delivers no personalised recommendation relating to specific financial instruments and executes no transaction on your behalf.

8. User Responsibility

The user is solely responsible for:

The accuracy of the data they enter
The decisions they make based on the information displayed
Verifying information against official sources

9. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall Patrice, its directors, employees, or partners be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the application or the analyses generated.

1. Purpose

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Patrice application, a personal wealth analysis and tracking tool. By using Patrice, you unconditionally accept these Terms of Use.

2. Description of the Service

Patrice is an application that enables users to:

Centralize and visualize their wealth (financial assets, real estate, debts)
Track the evolution of their wealth over time
Analyze their asset allocation and risk profile
Receive generic wealth decision-making indicators
Simulate financial projections
Estimate the market value of real estate properties using public data

Patrice is an information and wealth-organisation tool. It does not provide investment advice and does not constitute an advisory service relating to specific financial instruments.

3. Registration and User Account

Access to the application's features requires account creation. The user must:

Be at least 18 years old
Provide a valid email address
Create a secure password

The user agrees to:

Provide accurate information during registration
Maintain the confidentiality of their login credentials
Immediately notify any unauthorized use of their account to contact@patrice.app

4. Use of the Service

The user agrees to:

Use the application in accordance with its intended purpose
Not use the service for illegal purposes
Not attempt to access other users' data
Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the application
Not use bots, scripts, or automated tools

5. User Data and Content

You retain ownership of all data you enter into Patrice. The user is solely responsible for the accuracy of the wealth data they enter. Patrice displays and analyzes data as provided by the user.

6. Plans and Pricing

Patrice offers a free version with comprehensive wealth tracking features. Advanced features (AI analyses, Monte Carlo simulation, full history, unlimited goals, advanced budget) are available through an annual Premium subscription.

The Premium subscription:

Is billed annually at €49 incl. tax per year (or its equivalent in USD, GBP, CHF, AED or AUD depending on the account currency; the exact amount is shown before any payment)
Renews automatically at each annual anniversary (see section 7 for renewal cancellation details)
Is shared: if one household member is Premium, the other is automatically Premium too
Can be cancelled at any time from account settings or the Stripe management portal
Payments are securely processed by Stripe, Inc.

Applicable refund conditions are detailed in section 7 below. Specific terms are presented before any subscription.

7. Refund Policy

7.1 Legal withdrawal right (14 days)

In accordance with EU consumer protection regulations (Directive 2011/83/EU and Articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code), users have 14 days from the date of Premium subscription to exercise their right of withdrawal, without providing any reason. A full refund will be issued within 14 days of the request, using the original payment method.

7.2 Pro-rata refund (beyond 14 days)

After the withdrawal period, users may request cancellation at any time. A pro-rata refund for remaining full months may be granted upon written request to contact@patrice.app. The current month at the time of request is non-refundable.

7.3 Last month of subscription

No refund is granted if the request is made within the last 30 days of the current subscription period.

7.4 Procedure

All refund requests must be sent by email to contact@patrice.app, specifying the account email address. Processing time is within 14 calendar days.

7.5 Automatic renewal

The subscription renews automatically at each annual anniversary. Users may disable automatic renewal at any time through their subscription management portal (Stripe portal) or by contacting contact@patrice.app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; Premium access is maintained until expiration.

8. Artificial Intelligence Features

Premium AI analysis and AI-assisted import features use models provided by Anthropic, PBC (Claude API). When using these features:

Your wealth and budget data is transmitted to Anthropic's API to generate the analysis; the labels you entered (asset and debt names, budget lines, co-owner labels, cities) are replaced with neutral identifiers before sending, then restored on display. For the import of property management statements, the content of the documents you submit is sent as-is
Neither your email address, nor your login credentials, nor your payment data are transmitted
Under the commercial terms, Anthropic does not use your data to train its models and retains it for 30 days maximum
The exact list of data transmitted is set out in section 7 of the Privacy Policy
Generated analyses are generic information and do not constitute personalized investment advice

AI access (MCP), a Premium feature that is off by default, lets you connect your own AI assistant to your account, to read your data and, at your request, change it. You enable it and authorise each connection yourself; the data read is then sent to the chosen assistant and processed by its provider under its own terms. You remain responsible for the changes you ask your assistant to make: each one is recorded in the Journal, where you can check it and undo it, unless an exception is shown (the item has changed since, or other items depend on it). You can revoke this access at any time from Settings › Your AI's access (MCP). Details are in section 8 of the Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

All elements comprising the Patrice application (source code, interface, texts, logos, algorithms) are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of the publisher.

10. Liability

The user is solely responsible for:

The accuracy of the wealth data entered
Financial decisions made based on the information displayed
Compliance of their use with applicable laws

Patrice is provided "as is." The publisher does not guarantee the absence of errors or interruptions. The publisher shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the application.

11. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings › Privacy › Delete my account. This action is irreversible and results in the deletion of all your data. Account termination does not automatically entitle the user to a refund, except as provided in section 7.

12. Modification of Terms

The publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use. In the event of a substantial modification, you will be notified by email or in-app notification.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable resolution shall be sought before any legal action. Failing that, the French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.

2. Data Collected

Patrice collects and processes the following categories of data:

Tenant names and any information contained in the property management statements you import

You are responsible for the lawfulness of any third-party data you enter into Patrice and, where applicable, for informing those individuals.

Display mode chosen (simple or advanced) and the history of its changes (previous mode, new mode, date)

3. Purposes of Processing

Your data is processed to:

Enable access to and use of the application's features
Save and synchronize your wealth data across your devices
Generate analyses and visualizations of your wealth
Provide generic wealth decision-making indicators
Generate personalized AI analyses (Premium feature)
Estimate real estate market value using public data (DVF, Land Registry)
Process Premium subscription payments
Let the AI assistant you connect read your data and, at your request, change it (AI access)
Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (only with your consent)
Ensure the security and proper technical functioning of the application
Sending you the newsletter if you subscribed, onboarding emails and email reports (section 13)
Knowing where sign-ups come from and measuring use of the demo and free tools (section 13)
Understanding how the simple and advanced modes are used, to improve the service (history of mode changes)

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Data processing is based on:

Performance of the contract (Terms of Use) for core features, and for AI analyses and AI-assisted imports: these are Premium features you trigger explicitly, one request at a time; and for AI access (MCP), which you enable and authorise yourself (section 8)
User consent for account sharing between household members, for audience-measurement cookies and for advertising measurement tags (Meta Pixel, Google Ads)
Legitimate interest for security and service improvement, including the history of display mode changes
Your consent for the newsletter; legitimate interest for onboarding emails, sign-up attribution and usage measurement of the demo and tools; performance of the contract for email reports (section 13)

5. Data Retention Period

Account data: until the account is deleted, which erases it immediately (only the host's technical backups remain, for a limited period)
Premium subscription billing data: kept by Stripe for the period required by its legal obligations, including accounting obligations
Wealth data: until account deletion or upon request
Saved AI reports: 24 months after generation
AI access (MCP) connections: until the account is deleted; a revoked connection no longer grants any access
Technical logs: 12 months maximum
Newsletter: while you are subscribed; after unsubscribing, the address is kept with that status only so that we no longer write to you
Fingerprint of the IP address of newsletter sign-up requests, used solely to limit abusive sign-ups (the address itself is not kept): 2 hours maximum
Fingerprint of the IP address used to limit calls to the free tools' measurement: 1 hour maximum
Record of onboarding emails sent and attribution data attached to the account: until the account is deleted
Usage events of the demo and free tools: 6 months
History of display mode changes (simple or advanced): 24 months after each change, then automatic deletion (the current mode stays recorded with your account)
Call log of AI access (MCP): 90 days
Changes made through AI access, recorded in the Journal: until you clear the Journal or delete your account

6. Data Recipients and Subprocessors

Your data is accessible only by yourself through your secure account and, if you so decide, by the household member you share it with and by the AI assistant you connect through AI access (section 8). The following subprocessors are involved in data processing:

Supabase, Inc. (Singapore) — Database hosting and authentication. Data hosted in the European Union (Ireland). Transfers governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Vercel Inc. (United States) — Hosting of the web application (including its server functions) and of the marketing site, and measurement of the audience of both (Vercel Web Analytics) and of their technical performance (Vercel Speed Insights). This measurement uses no cookies and no persistent identifier: only aggregate statistics are produced (page views, referrer, device type, country), together with funnel events that carry only the path of the originating page and the interface language. Transfers governed by SCCs. DPA available at https://vercel.com/legal/dpa.
Anthropic, PBC (United States) — AI processing for Premium analyses and AI-assisted imports (Claude API). The data transmitted is detailed in section 7: it is not anonymized and may contain identifying elements you entered yourself. Access under commercial terms: your data is not used to train models. Retention by Anthropic: 30 days maximum, then automatic deletion — this period may be longer for content flagged for safety reasons. Transfers governed by SCCs and by Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum.
Stripe, Inc. (United States) — Secure Premium payment processing. Only payment data is transmitted. PCI-DSS compliant. Transfers governed by SCCs.
Resend / Plus Five Five, Inc. (United States) — Email delivery: transactional emails, newsletter, onboarding emails and reports. GDPR compliant, SOC 2 Type II, EU-US Data Privacy Framework certified. DPA available at https://resend.com/legal/dpa.
Umami Software, Inc. (United States) — Audience measurement on the mypatrice.com marketing site, alongside GA4. No cookies and no persistent identifier: only aggregate statistics are produced (page views, referrer, device type, country). Your IP address is not retained; it is used solely to compute an anonymous fingerprint, renewed monthly, which distinguishes two visits without recognising you from one month to the next or from one site to another. Account set up on the European region: data hosted in the European Union (Germany). Processing governed by Umami's Data Processing Addendum (https://umami.is/dpa), incorporated by operation of the terms of service.
Google LLC (United States) — Audience measurement via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and measurement of the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns via Google Ads (page views, content views, account creation), only after the user's explicit consent. For GA4, IP addresses are anonymized. Transfers governed by SCCs and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Ireland) — Measurement of the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns via the Meta Pixel (page views, content views, account creation), on the marketing site and the application, only after the user's explicit consent. Data may be transferred to Meta Platforms, Inc. (United States); transfers governed by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and SCCs.

Your data is never sold, rented, or shared for commercial purposes with third parties.

7. AI Processing of Wealth Data

AI features are optional, reserved for Premium accounts, and only run when you request them. You can use Patrice without ever enabling them.

When you do use them, the following data is transmitted to Anthropic's API:

Amounts, allocation and trajectory of your assets and liabilities
Your age, risk profile, goals and the description of your wealth projects
Your income and expenses (budget analysis)
The text you write in natural-language asset entry
The content of the PDF property management statements you submit, along with the tenant names recorded in your rental portfolio

The free-text labels you entered are pseudonymised before sending: the name of each asset and each debt, the co-owner labels ("Me", "Partner", or the first name you entered), the city and country of your properties, and the labels of your income lines, expense lines and savings goals are replaced with neutral identifiers ("ACTIF_1", "PERSONNE_A"…) before transmission, then restored when the report is displayed. These labels therefore never leave our systems during AI analyses.

This pseudonymisation does not make the data anonymous within the meaning of the GDPR: amounts and proportions remain linked to you, the free-text description of your projects and the text of natural-language entry are transmitted as you wrote them, and property management statements submitted to the AI import are sent as-is (the document itself is what gets analysed).

The following data is never transmitted:

Your email address and login credentials
Your payment data
The postal address of your properties — city and country only leave as neutral identifiers
The names of your assets, debts, co-owners and budget lines — replaced with neutral identifiers (except property management statements submitted to the import, sent as-is)

Under the commercial terms binding Patrice to Anthropic, your data is not used to train models. Anthropic retains it for 30 days maximum before automatic deletion; this period may be longer for content flagged for safety reasons.

To reduce what is transmitted, check the contents of a statement before submitting it to the AI import and keep the description of your wealth projects general.

AI access (MCP), which sends your data to the assistant you choose, is covered in section 8.

8. Your AI Assistant's Access (MCP)

AI access lets you connect your own AI assistant (for example Claude, ChatGPT or Le Chat) to your Patrice account. Reserved for Premium accounts, it is off by default: it only works if you enable it yourself under Settings › Your AI's access (MCP), then authorise each assistant when it connects (OAuth protocol).

Reading: the assistant can read the data you see in Patrice (assets, debts, value history, budgets, goals, forecasts, tax profile, real estate module, and what your household shares with you).
Changes, at your request: the assistant can also add, change or delete your own data (assets and debts, owners and company records, budgets, goals, forecasts and scenarios, tax profile, real estate module). It cannot change another household member's data, nor your account, subscription or preferences (display, notifications, AI access).
Journal and undo: every change made by an assistant is recorded in the Patrice Journal, with the values before and after; you can undo it there, as long as the item has not been changed since and no other item depends on it. To limit the consequences of a mistake or a runaway assistant, changes are capped at 120 per hour, including 20 deletions, and at 30 in 5 minutes; rental entries added in a batch count as one change per group of five.
What Patrice keeps: the identifier and name of the connected application, the connection and last-use dates, and a cryptographic fingerprint of the access tokens — never the tokens themselves.
Recipient: the data read is sent, at your request, to the assistant you chose. It is not pseudonymised and is processed by that assistant's provider under its own responsibility, according to its terms and privacy policy; that provider may be established outside the European Union.
Revocation: you can disconnect an assistant or switch off access entirely at any time, in the same place; the connections are then revoked immediately.
Call log: for each tool an assistant calls, Patrice records the assistant, the tool, the date, success or failure and the duration of the call — never the data read. These calls can be viewed in the Journal and are kept for 90 days; changes stay there until you clear the Journal or delete your account.

9. Data Security

We implement appropriate measures:

Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
Secure authentication with password hashing
Row Level Security (RLS): each user can only access their own data
Regular backups and recovery procedures
No payment data storage (handled entirely by Stripe)

10. Your GDPR Rights

You have the following rights:

Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data
Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data
Right to erasure: request deletion of your data
Right to data portability: receive your data in a structured format (CSV export for everyone, full JSON export with Premium)
Right to object: object to the processing of your data
Right to restriction: restrict the processing of your data

To exercise your rights: contact@patrice.app, or directly in the application, under Settings › Privacy (data export, account deletion).

You may also file a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.

11. Cookies

Patrice uses essential technical cookies (authentication session, language and currency preferences).

Patrice also uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for audience measurement and to improve the user experience. GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are only placed after your explicit consent via the cookie banner. The data collected is anonymized (pages visited, session duration, device type) and does not allow personal identification.

With that same consent, the marketing site and the application also load the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland) and the Google Ads tag, which measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns: page views, content views and account creation. They set, in particular, the _fbp (Meta) and _gcl_au (Google Ads) cookies. Without your consent, none of these tags is loaded.

Your choice is stored in a cookie (patrice_analytics) and applies to both the marketing site and the application. You can change it or withdraw your consent at any time via the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of the marketing site and of the application.

The mypatrice.com marketing site also uses Umami, a cookieless audience-measurement tool. It stores nothing on your device, does not track you from one site to another and produces aggregate statistics only: on that basis it runs without prior consent, in line with the exemption criteria set out by the CNIL for audience measurement. It applies to the marketing site only; the application does not load it.

Both the mypatrice.com marketing site and the patrice.app application use Vercel Web Analytics, likewise cookieless and without any persistent identifier: it stores nothing on your device, does not track you from one site to another and produces aggregate statistics only, and on that basis runs without prior consent, under the same exemption criteria set out by the CNIL. Besides page views, it records three steps of the sign-up journey: the click from the marketing site to the application, opening the demo and creating an account. These events carry only the path of the originating page and the interface language — no email address, no account identifier, no wealth data. Vercel Speed Insights, which measures the technical performance of pages (loading time, responsiveness), likewise works without cookies or any persistent identifier.

12. Contact Form

When you use the contact form, the following data is collected: name, email address, subject and message.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (responding to a contact request initiated by the user).

Data retention: Form data is not stored in a database; it is only transmitted by email to contact@patrice.app. To limit abusive submissions (at most 3 per hour), the IP address of each submission is recorded separately, without the message; these records are deleted no later than one hour after the submission.

13. Emails, newsletter and Patrice's own measurement

Newsletter:

You can subscribe on the blog, or by ticking the box provided when you create your account or under Settings › Notifications › By email (unticked by default).
On the blog, a subscription only takes effect once you click the confirmation link sent by email (double opt-in). We keep your email address, the chosen language and the dates of subscription, confirmation and, where applicable, unsubscription. To limit abuse, a fingerprint of the IP address of each sign-up request is kept for at most two hours — never the address itself.
Every email contains an unsubscribe link.

Onboarding emails:

After you create your account, Patrice sends you at most five emails with usage tips, between the day you sign up and day 45 (D0, D+2, D+7, D+30, D+45); their content depends on how far you have got with entering your data.
Once only, on day 45 (or in a separate email for older accounts), Patrice invites you to leave a review on Trustpilot. Every account receives this invitation, whatever its activity; no data is passed to Trustpilot: reviews are posted on its website, entirely at your initiative.
They are enabled by default. Each one contains a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can turn them off under Settings › Notifications › By email. We keep a record of each email sent (step, date, language) so that no email is ever sent twice.

Email reports:

Patrice sends you a monthly summary of your wealth by email and, for Premium accounts, an annual summary at the start of the year. They are calculated from your data and sent via Resend.
These emails are enabled by default; you can turn them off at any time under Settings › Notifications › By email or with the unsubscribe link in each email.

Sign-up attribution:

When you arrive on the website or in the app, Patrice records in your browser's local storage where your first visit came from: campaign parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term), referring site, landing page, date and, if you came from an ad and only if you accepted cookies, the ad click identifier (gclid, wbraid or gbraid for Google Ads, fbclid for Meta). If you decline or withdraw your consent, this identifier is erased; the campaign parameters remain, as they identify only the campaign, not the click.
If you create an account, this information is copied to your profile. It is used only to know which channels and campaigns bring sign-ups; Patrice does not pass it on to any third party.

Usage measurement of the demo and free tools:

Patrice records in its own database, with no third party, usage events: steps reached (display, first choice, first field entered, result, click to sign up), options chosen — for an answer about your situation (age bracket and country, marital status, tax bracket, answers and level of the investor profile, or a result that follows from them, such as being liable to the IFI), only the question is recorded, never your answer —, your choice in the cookie banner, the campaign the visit came from, language and country of connection.
Some tools also record a qualitative result, with no amount: the winning option of a comparison (PER or PEA, renting or buying, the contract with the lowest fees), the most favourable tax regime (rental yield) or the holding-period band (property capital gain). Two others record a rounded band of the result: your position relative to the median of your age bracket (above, below, equal, or negative net worth) for the net worth calculator, and the savings rate rounded to the nearest ten points for the FIRE calculator. Never your amounts.
These events contain no amount entered, none of these answers, no IP address, no email and no persistent identifier: they are linked to each other only by a random key that disappears when the tab is closed. If you accepted audience measurement, this key is copied to your profile when you create your account, to link your journey through the tools to your sign-up.
To limit the number of calls, the route that receives these events (/api/calc-event) computes an HMAC fingerprint of your IP address — never the address itself, which is not recorded. This fingerprint is kept for at most one hour, separately from the events, and is used solely for this limitation.
The values you enter in the free tools stay in your browser's local storage, on this device only, so that switching language does not empty the form; they are never sent, and you can erase them by clearing the site's data in your browser.

14. Changes

This policy may be updated. In the event of a substantial change, you will be notified by email or in-app notification.
