Talk to Your Wealth with Your Own AI: Claude, ChatGPT or Le Chat Connected to Patrice

Many of us have tried it: open ChatGPT, paste a table of accounts, type "what do you think?". The answer is often brilliant in form and fragile in substance. The table is from last month. The mortgage is missing, so is your partner's share, so is the split ownership of the family home. The AI fills the gaps with assumptions — "let's assume a 50/50 split" — and reasons correctly on wrong figures.

Patrice's AI access solves this differently: instead of bringing your figures to the AI, you let your AI come and read them, up to date, complete, and read-only. This article explains how it works, what your assistant can do with it, what it can't, and how to turn it on.

The copy-paste problem

Pasting your figures into an AI assistant raises three problems, and they add up.

• The data is stale. An export is a snapshot: by the next day, prices have moved, a rent has come in, a repayment has reduced the outstanding loan.
• The data is incomplete. You paste what you have at hand. The ownership shares of a property bought as a couple, the usufruct from a gift, the leases of a rental building stay out — and they are precisely what makes the difference.
• The calculation rules are missing. Even with every figure, the AI doesn't know how you count: each person's share of a jointly owned asset, the value of bare ownership depending on the usufructuary's age, currency conversion. It invents a convention, often without saying so.

What MCP changes

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant query an outside service during the conversation. In practice, when you ask "what is my share of our net worth?", the assistant calls Patrice, receives the figures as the app calculates them, then answers you.

Nothing is exported in advance, no file is left lying around: the AI reads at the moment it needs to, and only what it needs to answer. Claude (Anthropic), ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Le Chat (Mistral AI) can use this type of connector, as can other MCP-compatible assistants.

What your AI can read

Everything you see in Patrice, the way you see it:

• your wealth: assets, debts, net worth, allocation, month-by-month history;
• each person's share in a couple, according to the ownership shares and split ownership you entered — with, asset by asset, the rule that was applied;
• your budget: income, spending by category, monthly savings;
• goals and forecasts: dated projects, scenarios;
• rental property: buildings, units, leases, rents received;
• the tax profile you filled in.

For a household, the rule is the app's: your AI sees what you see, nothing more. What your partner keeps private in Patrice stays private from your AI.

Example questions

A few questions that become possible, because the AI works on your real figures:

• "What is each of our shares of our net worth, and where does the gap come from?"
• "Which unit in my building has no active lease?"
• "How much have we saved per month since January, and which month fell behind?"
• "Is my allocation consistent with my goal of retiring at 62?"
• "What moved my net worth the most this year?"

The difference from copy-paste shows most on the first two: each person's share and the state of the leases are exactly the information an export leaves out.

What your AI cannot do

AI access is read-only, by design: there is no write function at all. Your assistant cannot add, change or delete anything in Patrice. And since Patrice never connects to your bank, your AI has no access to it either.

Two limits to keep in mind:

• An AI can make mistakes in its reasoning, even on correct figures. For a decision that matters, check the calculation in Patrice, which remains the reference.
• This is not personalized investment advice. A conversation with an AI helps you understand and prepare your decisions; it does not replace a professional when your situation calls for one.

Who controls what

AI access is designed so that nothing happens without you:

1. Off by default. You have to turn it on yourself, in Patrice's Settings, after reading what will be shared.
2. Every connection is approved. When your assistant connects, Patrice shows you who is asking for access and asks you to confirm. If your account has two-factor authentication, it is required.
3. Everything can be cut in one click. Each connected assistant appears in Settings, with the date it was last used; disconnecting it stops access immediately.

One thing to know before turning it on: the figures your assistant reads are sent to it, and processed under its publisher's terms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Mistral AI…). Take a minute to check, in your assistant's settings, whether your conversations can be used to train its models, and turn that off if you wish.

How to turn it on

AI access is part of Patrice Premium. Three steps:

1. In Patrice, open Profile Management → Your AI's access (MCP), read what will be shared and turn access on. Copy the server address.
2. In your assistant, add a custom connector with that address:
   • Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector;
   • ChatGPT: on paid plans, in developer mode;
   • Le Chat: in connectors, add a custom MCP connector.
3. Your assistant sends you back to Patrice to confirm. Approve, then ask your first question.

Why Patrice stays at the center

You might wonder what the app is still for, if the AI answers everything. The answer lies in the division of roles: Patrice organizes and calculates, your AI converses. Ownership shares, split ownership, leases, history, currency conversions: Patrice keeps them up to date and calculates them, with consistent rules. The AI only reads that result to talk it through with you.

Without reliable data underneath, an AI only dresses up approximations. With it, it becomes a conversation partner that knows your situation, figures included. To see it all in detail, the Features page presents AI access alongside the rest of the app.
